The Space Race
An animated short depicting the space race between the US and the USSR, created for my Final Year Project at the University of Kent.
Software: Adobe After Effects & Illustrator
Final Year Project, BA: Digital Arts, University of Kent

Another facet of the Cold War rivalry between The United States and Soviet Union, The Space Race kicked off in the 50s and gravitated around the sprint to achieve supremacy in space exploration. Milestones included satellite launches, sending humans, among other creatures, into orbit, and ultimately landing on the Moon.
The race captivated the world, with historic achievements, collaboration and moral building on a national level, not to mention incredible scientific and technological developments. Itβs no surprise then, that it continues to inspire people today.
This short animation illustrates how a new generation, inspired by the legacy of these 20th Century pioneers, drives towards the next milestone in exploration β sending the first person to Mars.
Animating History
This was my first project using Motion Design and Adobe After Effects. I began by outlining key points and achievements, which were then translated into a storyboard. Once the storyboard was approved, all necessary visual assets were created in Adobe Illustrator, carefully layered to ensure a smooth import into After Effects.
